Adversity is the state of nothingness or having very little means to survive.

Adversity is the state of nothingness or having very little means to survive. It is any poor condition or difficult time that is, at least, apparently a setback for the sufferer. But, adversity has its benefits as well that are sweet.Adversity encourages man to work hard and achieve his goals. Steve jobs, the co-founder of Apple (company),was fired from his own company. He didn’t lose hope. Instead, he kept his nose to the grindstone and got anenviable position in the firm in the later years. Moreover, adversity makes a man brave and strong. It gives him strength to bear atrocities inflicted on him bythe world. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his companions lived in dire straits at times. There wasnothing for them to eat for days yet they remained steadfast in their belief. They didn’t have enough weaponryto fight infidels. Nonetheless, they fought them fearlessly. In addition to bravery and strength, adversity makes man conscious of the world around him. He comes to knowof the ways and means suitable for him to accomplish his goals. It also enables him to understand the problemsfaced by the general public. Abraham Lincoln faced acute poverty in his childhood. He knew well thepersecutions and the pangs of hunger the Negroes suffered from. So, when he became the president of the USA,he came up with Emancipation Proclamation and got Negroes freedom. To conclude, it is said that poor financial conditions or times of hardship are great troubles for sure. But, theyhave so great lessons to teach that are lifelong and help man rise from earth to sky.
